I guess most people associate Hong Kong with Blade Runner-esque cityscape of neon, skyscrapers and people - although there’s far more to it than that - no wait. that’s not the point here…

Why am I doing this? Why am I writing these posts? Is it to connect, to stay in touch with friends and family and show them what I’m up to? Partly.

It’s also maybe for people who are interested in world travel or specific destinations and can pick up some hints and tips from a casual browse. How altruistic of me.

It’s also an experiment. I know that - but every experiment must have a premise. The premise here? I’m not sure - I think it’s because I’m a relative newcomer to world travel (beyond a couple of weeks here and there to Europe) - I have quite strong ideas about the way I’d like to do my travel, so I’m testing that - and there’s partly a fear. A fear of the unknown. And I’m pushing against that fear to see what pushes back and what dissolves before my eyes.Testing myself.

And in it’s place, a new experience? A new way of seeing the world? A huge set of clichés?

Yes it is the journey, more than the destination (maybe because I know the destination already, it’s back home). And so if that’s the case, I’ll just keep moving…
